Shared Book Discussion: The Help

January 18, 2012

Where: Shea Conference Room, O’Connor Building
Time: 12:40pm-1:30pm (Common Hour)

Join us on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 for a book and movie discussion.  Dr. Peter Mascuch will lead the discussion on Kathryn Stockett’s, The Help.

About the Book

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don’t.

Celebrate Veterans Day

November 11, 2011

Veterans Day, which is observed on November 11,  is intended to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military – in wartime or peacetime.  In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank living Veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served – not only those who died – have sacrificed and done their duty.
